The current lockdown gave us plenty of time to take a trip down memory lane and see how much has changed over the last 7 years.

Southern Cross Cleaning (SA) has been operating since 1980 (41 years) as a South Australian owned and operated business and has grown substantially since being acquired by its current owners in 2000, Brandon and Amanda Petty. The company now undertakes cleaning services, commercial and ground maintenance to over 3200 government and private facilities throughout SA, QLD, VIC and NT and has grown from 65 to over 1400 trained, quality cleaning and service personnel.

Here’s a timeline to highlight some of the significant moments from each year:

2014: Acquisition of Prime One Cleaning. This included over40 government and private school cleaning contracts and various private sites throughout SA and Alice Springs.

2015: Introduction of Marine Services Division – providing marine services, a boat brokerage service and SA dealers for Caribbean, Beneteau and Chaparral. For any boating queries, feel free to call our Head Office.

2016: SCC outgrows Seaview Downs office and purchases a larger office and warehouse building in Marleston. This provided a central location for clients and staff to access; Acquisition of Cleansafe in QLD. Cleansafe specialises in heavy duty periodical services and support to the facilities services industries in Queensland.

2017: Set up office and commence operations in Darwin, NT. Southern Cross Cleaning picks up South Australian ALDI contracts.

2018: Acquisition of facilities maintenance company in QLD, rebranded as Southern Cross Facilities Services. This entity provides facilities maintenance services on a larger scale; The SCC Group branding was introduced to group all the entities together; Southern Cross Cleaning picks up Victorian ALDI contracts.

2019: Set up office and commence operations in Victoria to accommodate for ALDI contracts as well as the additional Victorian Defence contracts.

2020: Staff play a major role assisting clients with all their COVID-19 requirements. This was done through the introduction of theCOVID-19 services, including touch point cleaning, deep cleans as well as disinfecting sites infected with COVID-19; Roll out of SCC app enabling cleaning staff to electronically sign in and out of every shift; Introduction of maintenance services in South Australia, services include gardening, handy man service and cleaning to various councils and departments.
